Islands of Korea, Islands of the World A Brief but Unforgettable Encounter Dumido Island : ISLAND Scene

            Where Life Finds Rest,

            And Hearts Find Their

Located at Korea’s southwestern edge, Sinan County, with its 1,004 islands, had always intrigued me. As a resident
of Daejeon, it felt distant and difficult to reach. But after my four-day trip to Sinan, the county left a lasting impression,
stirring a sense of nostalgia as the season passes. Way Home
What struck me most was how each island
possessed a distinct identity. From colorful
rooftops to vibrant blossoms on Byeongpungdo
Island and the famed Purple Island, every
destination felt thoughtfully curated. For those
 holding preconceived notions about Sinan’s
 remoteness, I’d wholeheartedly recommend
a visit. The charm of Sinan is as distinctive as Kim Hae-young
a fingerprint, and I hope to return in different
 seasons to experience its evolving beauty. Travel Period: ’22. 8. 16. ~ 9. 14.

Barely three weeks after my initial trip, I felt an irresistible
pull to return to Dumido Island. The familiar greetings of
the pension owner and villagers felt like a homecoming.
