                         From November 29 to December 6, 2024, a special 8-day pop-up store opened in
                        Seongsu-dong, one of Seoul’s trendiest and most culturally vibrant neighborhoods.


                            Organized by KIDI, the Pop-up Store called “Seomthing Convenience Store”
                              was designed to invite visitors to reflect on and engage with island life.
                                   The event shared stories from 18 island villages across Korea,
                              remained through the lens of the MZ generation (Millennial and Gen Z).
                                             * “Seom” meaning “island” in Korean.

                                                                                                                                         relatable, the event took on the concept of a
                                                                                                                                         convenience store a familiar space in daily life.

                                                                                                                                         Taking inspiration from one of the store’s most
                                                                                                                                         iconic items, the Triangle Kimbap, each participating
                                                                                                                                         island was represented through unique, sensowrially
                                                                                                                                         designed goods and food tastings that reflected its
                                                                                                                                         distinct character.
