Since 2016, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety has promoted the “Islands to Visit”
campaign to revitalize island tourism and prevent the decline of island populations. Since
the establishment of the Korea Island Development Institute (KIDI), this campaign has Hansando Island (Tongyeong City)
been jointly selected and promoted by both organizations.
