Launching the Project for safeguarding the endangered documentary heritage
ROK-UNESCO signed an MOU for archives preservation and digitization

In June 2022, ICDH launched the Project for
the archives preservation and digitization of the
Amadou Hampâté Bâ Foundation to preserve the
endangered documentary heritage. It is the first
1 ODA project of ICDH; its primary beneficiary is the
Amadou Hampâté Bâ Foundation in Côte d'Ivoire.
This Project aims to safeguard the endangered
archives of the Foundation and secure equitable
and inclusive access to them. In this context, the
FOND A TION main activities are as follows:
- Improvement of the conservation environment
for Amadou Hampâté Bâ's collections
- Creation of capacity-building programmes
for safeguarding the collections
- Digitization of the collections and
establishment of the digital library
To bring out the best of the Project, diverse
organizations will cooperate closely with the
foundation. ICDH will support the Project by
providing advice on general technical issues
regarding conservation treatment of the archives,
development of the manuals and strategies, the
staffing of capacity-building programmes, etc.

mentary Heritage (hereafter ICDH)
created a short-form animated video Memory of the World, 2005
based on Children’s and Household
Tales (Memory of the World, 2005)
collated by the Grimm Brothers. While
connecting the universally known fairy
tales to sustainable development goals, Sustainable

Web pages are the frontier of infor-
mation about the missions and projects
of an institution. ICDH’s Web page
underwent a light design renewal. An
extended menu tree on the main page
provides better navigation through
the website. The vision and strategic
tasks page was redesigned in a more
comprehensive and intuitive way.
The “Construction progress” page
was added for those interested in the
construction progress of the ICDH
building, and the “Submissions for
Newsletter” page was added as well.
Moreover, the “International Register”
page was added as well. Moreover,

now provides an intuitive, interactive
map that includes regional lists
of inscribed heritages. The Web page

information about the center, but also
