In the summer and fall of 2023, the Korea Island
Development Institute launched the “Living on Islands”
program to support stays of at least two nights and up to
one month on inhabited islands across Korea—excluding
the Jeju mainland.

Through an open online application process, 30 teams were
selected and received financial support for accommodation
and activities. Each team shared their unique experiences
on social media, exploring and enjoying the charm of island
life. Here are a few of their memorable stories.
