This is the speech delivered on March 7, 1971, by

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the former
president of Bangladesh, who led the country to

independence. In the speech, he informally declared
the independence of Bangladesh.

The speech explained how people of different
ethnic, cultural, language, and religious groups are

overlooked when nations freed from colonial rule fail
to advance into inclusive democratic societies.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman expressed his
anger about the Pakistani government’s oppression
