This is a collection of documents showing the
destruction of Warsaw during World War II (1939-1945)
and the post-war reconstruction of the city.
The documents include information on the
conditions of undamaged buildings, ideas about
the reconstruction of the Old Town, and designs
and investment projects related to the restoration
of monumental architecture. They also show the
cleaning and reorganization of the demolished
Warsaw in 1945, the history of urban reconstruction,
and the process of rebuilding the Old Town exactly
as it developed over 250 years.
