Responsible
Consumption and
Production
Trends may come and go, but a continuing trend will not fade away that
easily: calls and action for responsible consumption and production.
Zero-waste and green consumption are already actively promoted by
consumers, companies, and manufacturers who produce our daily
products, becoming a general norm.
The issue of how we consume and produce takes tremendous importance
as it directly relates to the market and the planet we live on. Mass
production by vast industrial sectors is typical, and many benefit from
this system. Manufacturers produce at an economical price; consumers
enjoy goods out of numerous options to choose from, providing us with an
easy and convenient lifestyle. Yet this lifestyle is an easy path for waste
accumulation, pollution, and a misleading recognition of taking resources
for granted.
Sustainable production and consumption are vital in protecting the
ecological basis we set foot on and are necessary for a healthy market
and economic system. Starting from eco-friendly actions of zero-waste
and plastic-free movements, it would be our shared responsibility to
accelerate the recognition of this sustainable goal every day so that our
consumption is no longer harmful nor a threat.
Many new ideas presenting green consumption and production are
introduced. Would there be any movements, policies, or innovative ideas
that you believe will go down as remarkable actions? What thoughts do
you have?
